The DLA Group is pleased to announce the OMNIS Studio v6 Web & Mobile apps 3 Day Intensive Training Course.

Andreas Pfeiffer of TigerLogic – Germany, fresh from his training role at EurOmnis, will conduct training. Andreas is an experienced instructor with real world Omnis experience.

Omnis Studio and the new JavaScript Client let you create web and mobile apps that will run on virtually any device, on any platform, including desktop PCs, web-enabled TVs, tablets, and smartphones on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. With the new JavaScript based Remote Forms (that support HTML5 and CSS3 standards), and over 30 ready-made JavaScript based components; Omnis Studio and the knowledge you acquire on this course will help you get your applications onto the web and mobile devices, fast.

CONTENT:

DAY 1 – Wednesday 11th November 2015, 9am – 5pm

Topics covered will include: JavaScript Client, Class design, library setup, SQL logon and the documentation class.

This session will explain the technology behind the WebClient and the new JavaScript Client. Discuss design considerations, review multi-threading issues, discuss optimisation tricks, and explain limitations and pitfalls.

You will learn how to set-up classes for easy re-use, set-up a connection to a SQL backend and how to implement a generic INI file reader.

DAY 2 – Thursday 12th November 2015, 9am – 5pm

Topics covered will include: JavaScript Client, SQL classes, SQL super class, SQL error handler and manual SQL code.

In this session you will learn how to use SQL session objects, SQL data objects as well as manual written SQL code and discuss the pros and cons. You will learn the benefit of encapsulation using data objects and the inheritance of them. We will also implement a generic SQL error handler.

DAY 3 – Friday 13th November 2015, 9am – 5pm

Topics covered will include: Omnis Synchronization Server, Animation using the Transform Component, RESTful Technologies, Asynchronous Programming, Advanced notation, Custom properties, Sub-windows, Pop-up windows in remote forms, Messaging concepts, Remote form super class, Creating dynamic menus.

You will learn how to create JavaScript Remote Forms, use the new JavaScript components and learn how to manipulate the components using advanced notation. You will discover unique ways of messaging between classes.

Furthermore you will also learn to use Sub-window/Sub-form to navigate through an application, including creating dynamic menus at runtime. Finally you will learn how to test the application you created within the training session on a mobile device.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP WITH THE LATEST OMNIS STUDIO v6.1.2 DEVELOPER EDITION INSTALLED.
